Top-Ranked SGTC Lady Jets Advance To The NJCAA Elite Eight With Win Over Moberly Area
Lubbock, Texas – The number one ranked South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets broke the two-year curse of number one teams losing their first game in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s National Basketball Tournament Thursday as they edged out the 17th ranked Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds 54 – 49 in the Sweet Sixteen round in the Rip Griffin Center at Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas.

Turner Hired As SGTC Crisp County Center Business Administrative Technology Instructor
Nicole Turner of Vienna has been hired as a full-time Business Administrative Technology Instructor for the South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. She reports to SGTC Dean of Enrollment Management Julie Partain on the Crisp County Center campus.

TCSG State Board Member Carvel Lewis To Speak At SGTC Black History Day Celebration
Technical College System of Georgia State Board member Carvel Lewis will be the guest speaker at the South Georgia Technical College Black History Program in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center building on the Americus campus at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23th, 2023, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. The theme will be “Celebrating Our Community.” SGTC faculty, staff, students, special guests and community members are invited to attend.

SGTC Foundation Awards Record Number Of Student Scholarships, Grants In 2022
The South Georgia Technical College Foundation set a new record for the number of scholarships and grants awarded to students during 2022 by “Going the Extra Mile” and providing 1269 students with nearly $375,000 in foundation support for tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and tools.
